Privacy

Constellate is a place to keep your dreams, and dreams are personal. This page explains exactly what we collect, why, and what we will never do with it. The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work, we never sell your data, and you can erase everything yourself, in the app, at any time.

What we collect

• Your dreams. The text you write, an optional title, and the night it belongs to.
• Your marks. Which of the engraved plates you tap for each dream, which is what forms your sky.
• Your reflections. Any answer you write to a reflection question, and the question itself.
• Your account. An email address, only once you choose to keep your sky by signing in. Before that, the app works under an anonymous account tied to your device.
• Notifications. A device push token, only if you turn on the daily reminder to catch a dream. A separate reminder, the dream-signs reality check, is scheduled entirely on your own device and never touches our servers at all.
• Subscription status. Whether you have an active subscription, processed through Apple and RevenueCat. We never see your card number or payment details. Apple keeps those.
• Error logs. If the app hits an error, basic diagnostic information (such as the screen you were on and a description of the failure) may be sent to Sentry, our error-tracking provider, so we can find and fix what broke. This is not designed to include the text of your dreams, reflections, or your email address.

That is the full list. No advertising identifiers, no location, no contact-list access, no tracking across other apps or websites, and no analytics SDK watching how you use the app.

Where your data lives

Your data is stored with Supabase, our database provider, in a US region, protected by row-level security so each account can only read its own rows.

How AI is used, and when

Marking a dream never involves AI. You tap the plates yourself, and every pattern shown to you, such as how often a symbol has returned or which symbols tend to arrive together, is a plain database query over your own marks. Nothing is generated or inferred there.

AI appears only inside a small set of premium features: the weekly letter, individual symbol essays once a symbol has returned across enough nights, and the monthly Tides reading. When you use one of these, our server sends the relevant material, your own dream text and marks for that letter, essay, or reading, to Anthropic's API to write it. That content is used solely to generate the piece of writing you asked for. It is never used to train a model, and it is never sent for any dream, letter, essay, or reading other than the one you requested.

Subscriptions

Premium subscriptions are billed by Apple and managed through RevenueCat, which tracks your entitlement (whether you are premium and until when) on our behalf. Neither we nor RevenueCat ever see your payment details.

Notifications

The daily reminder to catch a dream is delivered as a push notification, which requires registering a device token with Apple's push service. The dream-signs reality-check reminder works differently: it is scheduled locally on your device and never creates or reads any record on our servers.

Anonymous accounts

The app can be used without an account: your first dream is stored under an anonymous account tied to your device, so nothing is lost before you decide to keep it. An anonymous account that is never turned into a real account by adding an email is automatically and permanently deleted after 30 days, along with everything stored under it.

Deleting your data

Open the app → Settings → Delete account. This is immediate and permanent: your account, dreams, marks, reflections, and push token are all erased, and there is no way back. If you can't access the app, email support@constellate.ink and we'll do it for you.

The website

constellate.ink sets no tracking cookies, runs no analytics, and builds no profile of you. Standard request data (such as your IP address) is used only transiently, to keep the site itself running and to protect it from abuse.

What we will never do

• Sell or rent your data to anyone.
• Show you ads or share data with ad networks.
• Read your dreams or reflections for any purpose other than operating the app.

Children

Constellate is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If our practices change, this page changes first, with a new effective date. Material changes will be announced in the app.
